Susan I. Cina

Susan Irene Cina passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD.
Sue was born on December 26, 1945, to Randolph and Lorretta (Lynch) Shackleford in Brentwood, Maryland. Sue graduated high school from St. Patrick's Academy in Washington DC.
Sue married James Cina on October 16, 1965, in Takoma Park, MD. She had many different jobs throughout her life but among her favorites were wife, mother, grandmother, EMT, and Babbles the clown. Making people smile was one of her goals and she excelled at it.
Sue is survived by her husband, James Cina of Rapid City, SD; children, Deb (Cina) and Tom Gartner of Mt Airy, MD, and Bill and Amy (Fox) Cina of Rapid City, SD; brother, Robert and Gayle (Stein) Shackleford of Derwood, MD; grandchildren, Karen (Ely) and Chris Ruiz, Matt, Zak, Toby and Abbie; great-grandchildren, Brooke, Cali, Wyatt; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Randolph and Loretta, and her sisters, Barbara and Judy.

Visitation in Rapid City will be held Monday, June 5,2023 from 4pm-6pm at Kirk Funeral Home. Sue will then take one last trip home. Visitation in Maryland will be Thursday, June 8,2023 at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus from 10:30am until funeral services begin at12:30pm. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD .

There will be a reception following all services at the Urbana Fire Department beginning at 3:00pm.
Sue asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
