Shirley May Tabler, age 84, of Rockville, Maryland, died Tuesday, December 15th, 2020 at 5:58 pm in the ICU of Shady Grove Hospital.
She was born March 18, 1936, in Washington D.C., a daughter of the late Howard Leon and Ella May Miles Bosley.
Growing up Shirley was a member of Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters, an Exhibition Square Dance Group, and even performed on the Grand Ole Opry. She graduated from Richard Montgomery H. S. returning every year she could for each reunion. She was an avid reader of mysteries of all kinds, particularly Cozy Mysteries. Shirley had many jobs throughout her life from telephone sales, waitress to a bank teller and school art teacher finishing at the Montgomery County Board of Education resource center.
She went to college in her late 30s and early 40s. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Maryland with Masters degrees in Art Education and Library Science with a full career at Montgomery County Public Schools. She retired early to travel with the love of her life Carlton and continued her world travels well beyond his passing. Shirley was a talented artist winning several awards for her art throughout the years. She was a world traveler who made friends easily. Shirley was listed in the 1993-1994 Edition of Who's Who of American Women, was a long time in good standing member of The Nation League of American Pen Women, Miniature Painters Sculptors Gravers Society, Cider Painters, Olney Art Association and several other art associations. Shirley was known and loved by many all over the World.
Shirley is survived by David E. Sepelak (son), Linda M. Sepelak (daughter), Charlotte V. Vetter (stepdaughter), William Farmer Jr. & James O'Mara (grandsons), Stephanie Taylor (granddaughter), Cameron M. Juengling (great-grandson) Duane Tabler & Brian Vetter (step-grandsons), Rhonda Hammer, Sonja Hess, Valerie & Barbara Altman (step-granddaughters), Sally Tabler (step daughter-in-law) Preceded in death by her 2nd husband & soul mate Carlton B. Tabler, 1st husband Edward C. Sepelak Sr., son William B. Sepelak & stepson Roger Tabler. Shirley Tabler will be incredibly missed.
A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 6:00 pm Rockville Church of the Nazarene 4500 Muncaster Mill Road Rockville, Maryland 20853 & virtually at https://faithlifetv.com/items/809049 In lieu of flowers please send donations made out to Rockville Church of the Nazarene.
