Sadie S. Riddle

Sadie Scott Riddle, 96, of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019.  Sadie was born July 27, 1922 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Grace Knilans Scott and Worley Thomas Scott. She grew up in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.  She graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1940. 

Sadie worked for Western Electric as a young woman.  She married Robert L. Riddle on August 1, 1942.  She was an active member of PEO, Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution for 25 years.  She also volunteered for Montgomery General Hospital for many years.  Sadie and her family were longtime residents of Damascus, Maryland.  Following her husband’s passing she lived in Leisure World for many years.

Sadie is survived by her only child, Robert L. Riddle, II, her daughter-in-law, Darlene Riddle, and her two grandchildren, Robert Riddle and Shawn Riddle and her brother Charles Scott.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, and two siblings, Betty Koppel and Dottie Hansen.

 Friends may call Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Glenmont United Methodist Church, 12901 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring Maryland 20906.  A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until Funeral Services begin at 11 a.m. Dr. Allen Stewart will officiate.

Interment will be in Salem United Methodist Cemetery, Cedar Grove, MD.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to Montgomery Hospice, 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100 Rockville, MD 20850.
