Robert (Bob) Mullinix

William Robert (Bob) Mullinix, age 93, lifelong resident of Damascus, MD, passed from this life on September 30, 2021, at Brooke Grove Nursing Facility in Sandy Spring, MD.

Born January 10, 1928, he was the son of the late William and Nellie Moxley Mullinix. He was the loving husband of Louise Stevens Mullinix for 72 years before her death in 2018.
Bob graduated from Damascus High School in 1944 and went to work for the United States Postal Service in Silver Spring, MD, until he was drafted into the U.S. Army on March 21, 1946. He was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC, assigned to the 416th Ordnance Company. After his discharge, Bob returned to work at the Post Office, transferring to Damascus in 1958, where he remained until his retirement after 40 years of service. Soon afterwards Bob began working as a Montgomery County school bus driver, remaining at that job for 10 years.

He was a member of Damascus United Methodist Church for 83 years, as well as a life member of both the Damascus Volunteer Fire Company and the American Legion Post 171.
Bob was a hard worker who liked to keep busy. He loved sunny days when he could do yard work and wash his car. He had an appreciation for good food, and especially enjoyed desserts. Bob was a devoted family man whose greatest joy was found in time spent with his loved ones. He will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered as a wonderful and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Lou Leishear, of Damascus, two granddaughters, Robin Skinner and husband Chris of Damascus, and Cheryl Beasley and husband Lance of Greenbelt, and two great-grandsons, Logan and Lincoln Beasley of Greenbelt. In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Burke, of Damascus, and numerous beloved relatives and in-laws.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, October 6 at Molesworth - Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872.

The funeral will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 7 at Damascus United Methodist Church, 9700 New Church Street, Damascus, MD 20872.

For those attending the visitation and funeral service, an adequate face covering or mask must be worn.

Interment will follow in Damascus Methodist Cemetery
