Martha A. Butler

Martha A. Butler of Damascus, MD passed away Tuesday, June 13th, 2023 at Shady Grove Hospital in Rockville, MD, after a long illness.  She was wife of the late Gerald L. Butler.

Martha was born in Washington, DC to the late David H. and Dorothy W. Wood. She grew up in Rockville and graduated from Richard Montgomery High School.
After high school she went to work for C&P Telephone Company where she met her future husband.

She is survived by their only son, Jeffrey L. Butler of Damascus, MD., by four sisters, Linda Miller (Tom), Patti Barse, Nancy Roundtree (Joe) and Betsy Curtiss (Jim) and by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Martha, her husband Gerry and son Jeff moved to Damascus in 1978. She was a Sunday school teacher, was active with the Y Women (where she organized their yearly auction) and was a member of the Damascus Garden Club.

Friends may call on Friday June 30, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872 where a visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m.
