Margaret Mae Falgout, nee Canfield, born November 17, 1932, daughter of Neil M. Canfield and Ruth H. Byrd, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020, in Silver Springs, Maryland. Margaret was predeceased by her brothers Warren, James, Kenneth, and Robert, by her dear sister, Betty Lee Zetka, and her son, John Neil Bowie.
Margaret grew up in El Paso, Texas, where she lived most of her life. She worked for Canfield Plumbing and Heating as a bookkeeper. Margaret also worked for Exxon as a bookkeeper and cashier, and for Anthonys Store before retiring and moving to Southern California. She later moved to Germantown, Maryland. Margaret had a great love for people. She generously shared her time and talents in serving family, friends, church, and community. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Margaret enjoyed serving in many church callings. She especially enjoyed teaching young children in Sunday School.
Margaret is survived by her three daughters: Jamie Furness, Kennie David, and Robin Barnes, her son Randy Hicks, eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 18900 Kingsview Road, Germantown, Maryland 20874, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 noon, until services begin at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be at a later date at Restlawn Memorial Park in El Paso, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Heart Association, or to your favorite charity.
