Kevin Hutto Obituary

Kevin F. Hutto

Surrounded by his family at home, Kevin Frederick Hutto, 67, of Clarksburg, MD, went to live with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 27th, 2023. Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sandra “Sandy” Unglesbee Hutto; children Kyle, Wesley (Keely), and Leah Hutto; granddaughter, Ivy Hutto; sister, Julie Hutto; and extended family from Alabama. Kevin was reunited with his parents, George and Frances (O’Neal) Hutto who preceded him.

Born September 3, 1956, Kevin grew up in Frederick, and loved playing Little League baseball, youth football, and church league basketball. His family were members of First Baptist Church (Dill Ave) where he was baptized and where his faith was nurtured, which lead him later to be born again and follow God’s plan for his life.

After graduating from Thomas Johnson HS in 1974, Kevin enjoyed a twenty-year career in the engineering and construction field working for Bechtel and Halliburton Brown and Root. He spent an additional twenty years with engineering automation software companies working with Bentley Systems, Autodesk and IDOX before retiring in 2021.

Active in his community, Kevin served on the Board of Directors for his HOA and the Montgomery County Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). He volunteered many after school hours supporting FCA student athletes. Kevin founded Clarksburg Sports Association (CSA), a multi-sport youth athletic program serving families of upper Montgomery County, including a CSA Challenger League baseball team for youth with special needs.

Kevin placed a high priority on spending time with his family and was very much a hands-on dad. He was lovingly involved in all aspects of his children’s lives, providing guidance as well as opportunities for them to grow. Together, they enjoyed traveling, boating and fishing, the Orioles, the beach and eating Maryland blue crabs.

Most importantly to Kevin was his relationship with Jesus Christ. He had a heart for evangelism, sharing the power of the gospel with as many people as possible. He served in multiple capacities at his church including Elder, Trustee, Liturgist and Sunday School teacher. He also enjoyed participating in many summer mission trips with his children. His appeal to everyone is that there is nothing more important than your eternal salvation.

In addition to his family and friends, Kevin acknowledges the expertise & support of his medical team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital during his hard-fought battle with scleroderma, a rare autoimmune condition. Thank you to: Dr. Virgina Steen, Dr. Ajeet Vinayak, Dr. Cristina Reichner, Dr. Michelle Milic and Dr. Reed Shnider (MMMC).
