Joseph Ralph Blodgett Jr. of Rock Hall, MD, passed away on December 4, 2023, at the age of 60 after a courageous battle with cancer. Joseph was born in Cecil County, MD, on January 2, 1963, to the late Joseph Ralph Blodgett Sr. and Dorothy Cecelia Blodgett.
Joseph’s legacy is carried on by his loving wife and best friend of 40 years, Patricia Blodgett. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership. He was a loving father to his son, Joseph Blodgett, and his late stepson, Lawrence “Larry” Broschart Jr. Joseph was also a loving brother to his siblings, Carol Maclaskey, Janice Boylan, Barbara Burson, and the late Nancy Hudson. He was an incredible grandfather, "Poppy" to his two grandchildren, Taylor Blodgett and Jade Blodgett, and father-in-law to Julia Blodgett. Joseph is survived by his extended family members and friends, whom he loves dearly.
Joseph was known as the man who built a foundation of warmth and kindness. He selflessly devoted himself to his family and would give the shirt off his back for the people he loved. In his early years, Joseph spent much of this time enjoying being with his friends. Joseph built a successful business alongside his wife from 1985 to 2023. His son continues his legacy by implementing the foundation of his father’s business within his own. In his later life, Joseph loved to spend his time at his home on the bay in Rock Hall, MD. There he and his family created many memories from riding their trucks along the beach to hosting family and friend parties. He also enjoyed maintaining their beautiful property and riding his tractor. Joseph had a creative mind that was always at work creating new inventions. He was the best friend, husband, and father.
