Donald A. Yarrington 

Donald Alan Yarrington, age 70, passed away on Monday October 23, 2023. He was born September 6, 1953, in Bethesda, MD, the son of the late Dorothy Yarrington. 

Don graduated from Rockville High School in 1971, meeting the love of his life, Debra, a few years later. After getting married, he moved to Damascus, Maryland to raise his two boys and build a lasting home and community. He worked for Geico as the foreman of their print shop for 40 years, retiring in May of 2013.  

Don always met any challenges in life with positivity and magnanimity. His smile and laugh lit up a room and made those around him feel welcomed and cared for. He loved supporting his local sports teams, especially football, baseball, and hockey. He loved his dogs and his garden, which highlighted his caring and gentle nature. Don appreciated art and history, traveling to places around the world such as Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and Costa Rica to experience great works and sights in person. He was truly devoted to his family and friends, a pillar of strength, humor, and kindness.   

He is remembered with great love and fondness by his wife of 50 years, Debra; his sons Roland, Bryan (Andrew); his sister Jenny (Mark), brother Robert (Maureen), and many beautiful nieces and nephews.  

A brief service in celebration of his life will be held at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 1 PM.
