Donald Lee Diddle, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, February 5, 2019 after a long battle with cancer and a blood disorder. He was the beloved husband of Suzanne Diddle, his wife of 58 years.
Born August 6, 1936 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Rev. Fred Diddle and Eunice Barnhart Diddle and was the youngest of their 12 children.
Don was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and served in the Air National Guard. He worked as a salesman all his life from cold call selling to managing international sales for large corporations. In addition to his professional career, he and his wife owned small businesses in Damascus and had a small hobby farm. Don was member of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church for over 40 years.
Surviving beside his wife Suzanne are his daughters, Laura Robertson, her husband Bruce and her daughter Katie Levinson; Moira Reilly Diddle and her sons, Mike and Ryan; Karen Allman, her husband Steve and their boys, Alex, Ben, Sam and Danny; his brother Gerald (Bud) and his wife Lucille as well as several very special nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his only son Stephen Jon.
A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday, February 9, at Wesley Grove United Methodist Church, 23640 Woodfield Road, Gaithersburg, MD. 20882. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 am with the funeral to follow at 11:00 am.
