Diana P. Bush

Diana Pointer Bush, age 77, of Boyds, Maryland died on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Casey House Hospice in Rockville. She leaves behind her husband of 57 years, Gordon Bush; her two sons Ryan and Donna Bush of Beallsville, MD and Darin and Teresa Bush of Centreville, MD;  two grandchildren Brandon and Hannah Bush; sister in law Anna Mae Pointer and two nephews Warren and Jon Pointer. Diana was preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Violet Pointer of Hyattsville and her brother Donald Pointer of Laytonsville.

Diana was born on July 18, 1942 at Sibley Hospital in Washington DC. Growing up in Hyattsville, Maryland, she was a graduate of Northwestern High School. She later attended Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia where she met her husband Gordon. Diana and Gordon were married on September 1, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Hyattsville.

Throughout her life, Diana was an active member in the church. A member of First Baptist of Gaithersburg for nearly 20 years and a member of Greenridge Baptist for the past 25 where she held numerous positions. She was most fond of her role as a Sunday school teacher and a “Greeter” at the front door.

The family will receive friends at Greenridge Baptist Church on Saturday, February 29th at 10:00 am followed by the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Tim Simpson, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Greenridge Baptist Church.
