Dani Boyd Obituary

Dani Simy Boyd

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved mother, wife, and friend, Dani Simy Boyd.  Dani passed away suddenly at Medstar Montgomery Medical Center in Olney, MD, on the evening of Thursday, January 7th, 2021.

Dani had a huge heart and touched so many lives that it is impossible to summarize in words.  Everyone who loved her so much and enjoyed sharing time with her will miss her dearly.

If you knew Dani, you know that her passion was doing for others. She loved helping people, loved being with her friends and family, and genuinely loved her students at Gaithersburg Middle School.  Her love for family and community was boundless. There was nothing she would not do to help anyone whom she felt needed it. Whether it was a shoulder to cry on or a kind ear to listen, she offered endless support for everyone. She was always there to give advice and a big hug.

A self-proclaimed "sun worshiper" she loved hot summers, going to the pool, and tanning out in the sun with her friends.  She loved the beach where so many memories were made with family and friends. She loved to talk, be around people, and could make a friend anywhere. She also loved to cook and was adamant about never letting anyone leave the house hungry.

Central to her life was her devotion to and endless love for her family. Her husband and five children were her entire world. Surviving are her immediate family, husband David of 29 years, daughters Claudia and Michelle, and sons, Elliott, Lucas, and Tony.  She was predeceased by her father, Gaston Soussan, and her mother, Solange Soussan from Bethesda, MD, where she grew up with her surviving siblings, Albert Soussan, Ralph Soussan, and Monique Israel.   She has an enormous extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws that she loved and are too numerous to mention in detail. Dani also had a circle of close friends that were like family to her in every way. You know who you are, our hearts share your grief and we hope you are coping during this sad time.

It saddens us that in this crazy time of the COVID-19 pandemic that we cannot be together with everyone who loved and will miss her so much.  We are certain she would want everyone to be safe and not endanger the health of anyone during this time.  We are hopeful to have a Celebration of Life service in the future once things have settled and our lives have returned to some state of normalcy.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers, support, and encouragement.  It has been a tremendous comfort to us during this tragic time. While we cannot say for certain she is in a better place now, as she truly loved it here with her family and friends, we do know she is in a good place and watching over and protecting us all. We all have a new angel in heaven.
