Caroline was a bank secretary, worked in the Personnel Dept. of the University of MD—University College, was an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in College Park, and was active in the Catholic Daughters and Hope Committee at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Caroline had an infectious smile and was very sensitive and empathetic to others’ feelings. The grace and ease with which she was able to comfort, encourage, and to show love was inspirational. Caroline embraced motherhood and lovingly cared for her husband and four sons.
Caroline is survived by her husband, Gerald Benedick, and her four sons and their wives--Christopher Benedick (Amanda), Geoffrey Benedick (Kathryn), Todd Benedick (Andrea), and Mathew Benedick (Amy). Caroline is also survived by 8 grandchildren—Bailey Benedick, Bryce Benedick, George Benedick, Frank Benedick, Josephine Benedick, Genevieve Benedick, Emily Humphreys, and Kathryn Ross. She is also survived by her first cousins—Mary (William) Shiflet, Sarah (Tracy) Wilkens, Donita (John) Aruny, Mary Gray, Martin (Marilyn) Gray, and Gary (Wendy) Gray. She is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces.
