Brian Edward Briggs
On Friday, April 8, 2022, Brian Edward Briggs passed away at the age of 54 at his home in Damascus, Maryland after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his parents, Joel and Ina, his sister Christie, and his nieces Grace and Olivia.
Brian was born in LaPlata, Maryland on March 14, 1968 and graduated from McDonough High School in 1986. He earned a BA degree from University of Mobile in 1992 and a MA from Florida State University in 1999, where he met his wife, Carol.
Brian went on to work as a church administrator at two churches in Montgomery County, Maryland: St. John’s Episcopal Church, Norwood Parish in Chevy Chase and Trinity Lutheran Church in Bethesda.
Brian loved music, played the trumpet, and had a beautiful singing voice. He enjoyed taking day trips to local parks with his wife, Carol. He was also very devoted to his Orthodox Christian faith.
The funeral service will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church in Potomac, Maryland on April 15, 2022 at 12:00 noon. Guests may arrive at 11:30am for a brief visitation prior to the service. The funeral will be live streamed at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMnw0XHuq6vZlc3y-Cj5kXQ/live .
The burial will take place following the funeral service at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, Maryland at 2:30pm.
