Bill was one of the few special people in life that you never forget once you've met them. I will always remember Bill as a great family man, a great cop, and an all around, great person, and my friend.... My prayers are with Bill's wonderful family, and friends...

All the years on the department, Bill was one of the few hardest working cops I ever had the pleasure of working with and knowing. Primarily when he went to K-9 is when I ran the most calls with him. Always smiling, always working and always had the back of all officers. His passing is not only a tremendous loss for all of us that knew and worked with him, but also a loss for the department, the county he served so well and , in particular, his family that he loved dearly.

Dear Barb and family,
We were so very saddened to learn of Bill's passing. Please know that we are keeping you all in prayer; safe to say that you and all in the Kitty Hawk Crew have another amazing guardian angel now. We are so blessed to have spent many wonderful summers with you on the OBX and have beautiful memories of our chats on the beach and along Poseidon Street, corn hole fun, and trips up the beach to John's for shakes. Bill was always smiling on the OBX! Our thoughts, prayers, and love are yours in abundance. God bless you all, and rest in Christ's peace, Bill.

March 9, 2017 12:50 PM

Barbara & Family,
I met Bill soon after he came on the PD. Bill was a special guy and I will always remember him. In the summer of 1992, Bill single-handedly built an addition on our home. I came home one day and all the trusses were in place, a feat very few men could do on their own. Later we coached together when Sean and my son played for the cougars. That's when I got to know the entire Seidel family. Bill was liked and respected by the players as he was big and strong, kind and patient and much more knowlegeable than the rest of us. Our jobs in the PD brought us together frequently and he was always professional and a pleasure to work with. He was taken way to soon. Barb & I are in Arizona and won't be able to attend the service, but our hearts and prayers are with you.

Barbara and children: There will never be another like Bill. You were his heart, reason for living, and working so hard to provide for you. He never saw a stranger and was kind to everyone he met. He was always kind, respectful, and helpful to us, his precious wife's parents. We miss him dreadfully. There is no doubt he has a special place in heaven. We will never forget. I was a classmate of Bill's in high school. I played football with Bill. He was the hardest working, give it all player we had. When I read his accomplishments, it sounds like that is how he lived his entire life. RIP. My God bless Bill and your entire family.
