I have great memories of your dad. My parents were there at Pleasant View Elementary. My mom taught Sunday School for the 4-5 year olds. She did so for many years, until my folks moved to Oregon in 1969. My dad ushered many times. I remember the school and the ground breaking for the church . I thought the world of your father. Always was so chipper, full of energy and always had something nice to say and talk about. He made the best out of confirmation classes ! It was a privilege to know him and always looked up to him.
I just received his obituary from Connie Blodgett. She found me on FB and she sent it to me . Prayers sent to you all .

Dear family,
Upon a "chance" finding Connie Blodgett Kangas on FB just the other day and communicating with her, I learned of your father's passing. Like the Blogetts, my mother was a charter member of Resurrection (Josephine Lingebach). My grandparents (George and Gertrude Berger) eventually became members. Your father officiated at their funerals-and the choir sang at my grandfather's. Your father also married my husband and I in 1969. Lots of fond memories. I knew your father loved music but didn't remember that your mother played the flute.
Not sure when you will read this but send God's comfort to you all.

Betsy, thanks so much for your note. I am always so amazed to hear how my dad touched the lives of others. Dad was always so fond of music, and he and my mom met when he accompanied her in some of her flute recitals. Dad was an accomplished piano player, as was my mom, who also taught flute, piano, and violin. My sisters and I appreciate you sharing your memories of our dad. He was a special man, and we miss both him and my mother very much. Blessings to you and your family.

I'm not sure what prompted me to see if I could find your dad on the internet and I'm so sad I did not see this earlier because I would have loved to attend his service. Your dad knocked at our door when he was first starting Resurrection Lutheran Church and our family started out with your family at the school. My husband Paul and I were in the church until we got married and moved away in 1967. My mom was in the church until she moved away in 1988. Your dad and mom were a major part of my upbringing and those years at Resurrection were very special. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Hi, Connie. I just saw your post this evening, as I haven't visited Dad's obituary in a while. I remember you and your family, and your note is so appreciated. My mom and dad would have been pleased to know that you were thinking them. They were both such very special people and they are missed. Thank you so much for your kind note, and I hope all is well with you and your family.

sorry for your loss. I started going to his Church when the services were at Plesant View and then moved to the church when it was built. Attended church until I married and moved away. He married us and years later baptized my son.
