Mrs. Loretta E. Watkins, 90, of Damascus, Maryland, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017.  She was born in Damascus on August 31, 1926, to Eli T. and Lucille Watkins Molesworth, both deceased, and was the wife of 65 years to Albert L. Watkins, also deceased.

Loretta worked for a short time at the Acacia Life Insurance Company in Washington, DC, following her graduation from the Damascus High School, but left that employment to become a homemaker following her marriage to Albert in 1947.  She also assisted her brother, Olin Molesworth, in his funeral business for many years, serving as a greeter and a receptionist.  She was an active member of the Howard Chapel-Ridgeville United Methodist Church.  She sang in the choir and was a member of the United Methodist Women.  She loved to bake and garden and especially loved her kitty cats. 

Surviving are a son, Ron Watkins and his wife Marie; a daughter, Linda Brightwell and her husband Donald; two grandchildren -- Tom Watkins and his wife Jeanie and Shannon Halikman and her husband Ian; and one great-grandchild, Faith Halikman.  Loretta is also fondly remembered by Pam Ungar and her husband, Bernie, and their children, David and Jennifer. She is preceded in death  by her two brothers Olin L Molesworth and Albert W. Molesworth.

Friends may call 2-4 and 6 -8 p.m., Thursday February 23  at the Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872    Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 24 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Howard Chapel Cemetery, Mount Airy.
