Mr. John Edward "Jack" Burdette passed away on October 17, 2017 at the age of 85 in Silver Spring, Maryland. Jack was born on September 12th, 1932. 

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Ann Burdette, his brother Glenn Burdette, and his brother-in-law Monroe Duvall. He is also survived by his children Dianne "Burdette" Eilers and husband Bob, Jackie "Burdette" Strunk, Dale Burdette, and Timmy Burdette as well as his son-in-law Bert Magin. He was also the devoted grandfather of Cory Magin, April Magin, Steven Strunk Jr., Karrie "Strunk" Hilton and her husband Jeremiah, Sandy Strunk, Lindsay Burdette, Robby Strunk, Nicole Magin, and Michelle Magin. He was preceded in death by his daughter Brenda "Burdette" Magin, son-in-law Steve Strunk, grandson T.J. Burdette, and sister Margaret "Peggy" Duvall. Jack also had two great-grandchildren, Brady Hilton and Nathan Strunk as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Jack was a member of the first graduating class of Damascus High School in 1950. He served as a Staff Sergeant medic in the United States Air Force and was also a skilled carpenter.

The family will receive visitors on Monday October 23rd, 2017 from 7-9 pm at the Molesworth-Williams, P.A. Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 24th, 2017 at 11 am at Calvary Assembly-Mt. Airy Church, located at 1134 Long Corner Road, Mount Airy, MD 21771. Burial will follow in the Damascus United Methodist Church Cemetery at 9800 Main Street, Damascus, MD 20872.
