Dorothy Catherine Mullinix, 89, died Monday, March 20, 2017, at her home in Mt. Airy, MD.  Born April 7, 1927, in Pleasant Valley, MD to Luther and Viola Yingling, she was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard Owen Mullinix with whom she enjoyed 35 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1981.  In addition she worked for 30 years in the cafeteria of the Carrol County School System. 

               She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Mt. Airy.  She and Leonard enjoyed many friends at the church and were faithful members. 

               Surviving Dorothy are: son, Dwight Mullinix, Mt. Airy; two daughters, Cindy Jenkins, Mt. Airy, and Wendy Wesselman, Chesapeake, VA; sister and husband, Grace and Richard Liebno, Westminster; brother and wife, Doug and Marie Yingling, Union Bridge; and three grandsons, Aaron Wesselman and wife Summer, Leonard Wesselman, and Jon Wesselman.  She is preceded in death by her brother, Melvin Yingling.

               The Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Mt. Airy with Reverend Anke Deibler officiating. 

               Memorials are suggested to Calvary Lutheran Church of Mt. Airy or the American Diabetes Association.
