Charles Gordon Knill, Sr. 96, of Woodbine, Maryland, died Thursday, August 31, 2017 at his home, which was also his birthplace. He was the husband of the late Rosie Idella Knill.
Born March 12, 1921, a son of the late Austin Peter and Ethel Meekins Knill.

Gordon was dedicated to his farm which has been in the family for 100 years. He worked hard raising crops, and milking cows. His favorite pastime was gardening, groom the farm and watching the crops progress through the year. He was a member of the Maryland Cooperative Milk Producers, and the Farm Bureau.

He is survived by his sons, Charles G. Knill, Jr. (Danny) and his wife Janette, of Woodbine and Austin Peter Knill and his wife Cheryl, of Laytonsville, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Muriel M. Knill, Catherine (Cass) Day, and Ethel Lorraine Swann.

Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday September 6 at Molesworth-Williams P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 7 at Poplar Springs United Methodist Church, 915 East Watersville Road, Mount Airy, Maryland 21771. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Lisbon Volunteer Fire Department Building Fund, P.O. Box 40, Lisbon, Maryland 21765.
