Vada Alberta Murray Mullinix, 82, of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Ellis E. Mullinix her husband of 63 ½ years.  They were married December 26, 1953.

Born January 12, 1935 at Cabin John, Maryland she was a daughter of the late Harry Murray and Katie Hackett

Vada attended Damascus High School, class of 1954.  She was a homemaker , loved spending time with her family,  Bowling and traveling.

Besides her husband Ellis she is survived by her children Dale M. Mullinix and wife Heidi, Tobi L. Shirk and husband William, Gina L. Fleming and husband Jeff, Beverly J. Twigg and husband Michael.  Fifteen grandchildren:  Christopher and Wife Becky, Jeffrey and girlfriend Cheryl, Brian and wife Megan, Shawn and wife Jackie. Jaime, Derrick and wife Michelle, Michele and husband Sean, Ashley and husband Daryl, Michael and wife Becca, Thomas and wife Jessica, Katie and husband Chris, Nicole, Cassandra, Robert, William and wife Stephany.  Sixteen Great-Grandchildren:  Joseph Alissa, Tyler, Brianna Shirk, McKenzie and Logan Kelly, Darla Haberlin, Tyler, Ben, Addison & McKenna Davis, Kianna Fleming, Ian and Camdom Mullinix, Sebastian Sowry, and Dalton Mullinix, and siblings Shirley Buttry and Ralph Murray.

She is preceded in death by her son Bruce Edward Mullinix.

Friends may call 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872.  Funeral services will held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 17 at Providence United Methodist Church, 3716 Kemptown Church Road, Monrovia, Maryland 21770.  Reverend D.D. Adams, her pastor will officiate.

  Pallbearers will be grandsons Christopher Shirk, Shawn Shirk, Brian Mullinix, Derrick Mullinix, William Taylor, Jeffrey Fleming Jr., and Robert Twigg.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Vada’s name to Providence United Methodist Church.
