No Services At The Funeral Home

Patricia Ann (King) Mallon, 82, passed away peacefully in her home in New Market, MD, Monday, May 22nd, 2017.  She was surrounded by her family and friends.
Patricia was born September 20th, 1934, in Washington DC, to Maynard and Ruth King.  She graduated from Roosevelt High School in June 1952.

She met her loving and devoted husband of 63 years, Joseph Mallon Sr., at her uncle, Lloyd's service station in Washington D.C. They married in December of 1953 and lived in Germany for 2 years while Joseph served in the U.S. Army.  After Joseph was honorably discharged, they moved to Calverton, MD to start a family.  They lived there for 36 years. They were faithful members of Good Shepard United Methodist Church in Silver Spring.  Patricia sang in the choir and was an active member of the church community.

After retiring, they moved to New Market, MD where they were members of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church in Woodfield, MD.  At Wesley Grove, Patricia once again shared her gift of music, in the choir.
In addition to her active church life, Patricia was a Life Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Friendship Chapter #17 - Washington D.C. Most notably, Patricia was a friend to everyone she met. Her smile and laughter will be fondly remembered and her joyful spirit was a gift to us all.

She is survived by her loving husband Joseph P. Mallon Sr., daughter Linda and her husband Mark Bishop, son Joseph P Mallon Jr. and his wife Betsy, granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Scott, granddaughter Ashton, and great grandchildren Harper and Chase.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Wesley Grove United Methodist Church, 23640 Woodfield Road, Gaithersburg, MD 20882, on Saturday, July 8th, 2017 at 11 am with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wesley Grove United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Maryland Chapter.
