Mrs. Alice Rita Sloan Einhorn, 76, of Germantown MD, died suddenly at her home on Thursday, April 20, 2017

Survived by her three children, Michael Einhorn of Germantown, Marilyn Price and husband, Dan of Point of Rocks, and Marlene Varneke and husband, Adam of New Market; and by her grandson, Liam Varneke. Her brothers and sisters; Patrick Sloan and wife Norma; Paul Sloan and wife Betty; Florence Eberhart and husband Daniel; Robert Sloan and wife Joan, all of Cresson PA; Judy Williams of Coshocton OH and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Lilly, PA., she was one of 12 children to the late John Sloan and Nora McDonald Sloan. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Robert J. Einhorn and siblings, Gwendolyn Sloan McCabe and husband James; Michael Sloan; Marylou Sloan; Magdalene Sloan; John Sloan; James Sloan and brother-in-law Vaughn Williams.

Alice graduated Lilly Washington High School and attained her Nursing degree from Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital. She completed her nursing career at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney MD where she specialized in addictions and mental health issues.

Alice was loving, warm-hearted and took comfort in caring for others. She exemplified kindness and showing concern, never too busy in life to help out a family member or friend. Alice was the genuine example of a person who always made the needs of others a priority before her own.  She was the epitome of generosity. She was always dependable and her patience was extraordinary. She had a true gift of being a great listener and ''counselor'' to anyone in

need.  She took exquisite care of her late husband who suffered with Alzheimer's disease for over 12 years.  Alice very much loved her son who is severely mentally challenged and thus, was always dedicated to his well-being and happiness. Her grandson, Liam, was the joy of her life. She enjoyed teaching him and was elated when he learned new things.  The pride she had in him was immeasurable. Some of her favorite pastimes were reading books and watching the news.  She loved to keep abreast of politics and current events.

Friends may call at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus MD. 20872 on Monday April 24th from 7- 9 PM.  Funeral services will be held at Mother Seton Parish, 19951 Father Hurley Blvd, Germantown MD on Tuesday April 25th at 11 AM (there will be a viewing will be held at Mother Seton  from 10-11 AM).
